VIRTUAL LIFE DRAWING
Sessions run every 30 minutes, Saturday Oct 4 @ pop-up location TBA
Premiering at VIA in conjunction with an opening in Second Life, this IRL/URL event will connect physical and virtual participants through group drawing sessions around live avatars posing in Second Life. Choose to draw your model on an iPad or paper, all works uploaded and exhibited online.
Virtual Life Drawing creates a bridge between communities of artists working in different contexts, while expanding the parameters of what “drawing from life” can mean today, where concepts like identity, location, time, or gravity can be ever-shifting or even moot.
Will LaTurbo Avedon make a special appearance?
Virtual Life Drawing is a project by Pittsburgh-based artist Craig Scheuer that has been in progress since 2012: with Second Life participants producing over 1,700 drawings and sketches his weekly sessions to date.
